About RockClimberGirl.com

We are girls who climb rocks.  Sometimes, we climb other things, like mountains.

I’m Mia Jones, and I started climbing in 2005, during my second year of law school.  It’s been all downhill (or uphill, depending on how you look at it) since then.  My life has shifted and bent around to accommodate my climbing habit, and climbing has taken me to such exotic places as Yakima, WA and a random boulder in the middle of a DNR property in Poulsbo, WA; as well as the more mundane by climbing standards… Joshua Tree National Park, Red Rock Canyon in Nevada, and to Pumori Base Camp and the summit of Kala Patthar in Nepal, among others.

I love that by living a life that makes me happy — playing outside, spending time with people who inspire me, and developing my own strength through climbing and cross training — I’ve been able to build relationships around the globe with other people who are inspired to live lives full of love, passion, and sport.  RockClimberGirl.com is one way that I share that love.

Enjoy, and go play outside!

Hi Mia,
I stumbled upon your site when I did a search on Mazama climbing. I haven’t been in awhile and was trying to find new info for a 3-day trip I’m taking there next weekend.

Anyway, cool site. I run a group called ‘Backcountry Betties & Babies’, which shares a similar mission…supporting women in continuing their outdoor passions such as climbing, randonee skiing, hiking, mtn biking, etc. Check us out if you are interested…we are always looking to grow our climber chica list: http://www.meetup.com/Backcountry-Betties/

Hi Mia,
Great site! I was reading your blog about Bicep Tendonitis… I am currently going through the exact same thing! I just shared it on my facebook page. I was wondering if you still had the pdf of exercises that helped you. The link is currently broken.

Like Heather in the comment above, I am also actively involved in a women’s rock climbing group in Humboldt County, CA called Roots to Rocks. If you or any of your readers are in the area and want to climb— look us up!

Mia, I see you went to law school.
yet you call yourself a social business architect?

that is confusing to me.
I went to architecture school, but would not call myself a social business attorney.

Hi Mia!
I am super-curious…where exactly is the boulder you are referencing in Poulsbo? I live in the area, so I would love to check it out!
